History behind Coastal Grains

Coastal Grains – Timeline

 

1982 - 10,850 tonnes storage, drier and intake silos were built.

1983 - A further 3,000 tonnes of storage was built.

1984 - 5,000 tonnes of extra storage was built with a further two intake silos and bulk out-loading bins.

1985 - 4,150 tonnes of storage was built.

1986 - The drier capacity was increased by 20%.

1989 - Another drier and 10,000 tonnes storage and intake were built, as well as new offices.

1990 - A gravity separator and further cleaning facilities were installed.

1993 - A further 15,000 tonnes of storage was built.

1995 - A further 14,000 tonnes of storage was built and out-loading hoppers.

1996 - Drier No 3, intake and wet bins were installed.

1999 - 24,000 tonnes of extra storage was built and TASCC Assurance scheme introduced.

2001 - Replaced eight conveyors and elevators which had been installed in 1982.

2002 - Modernised drier panel which had been installed in 1982.

2003 - Replaced dresser which had been installed in 1982.

2005 - Introduced bruiser for feed needs of members and non members.

2006 - 12,000 tonnes storage, drier and intake was bought.

2009 - Start of major plant upgrade replaced five conveyors and one elevator.

2010 - Drier No 1 and dresser were replaced, with 14 conveyors and five elevators.

2010 - New offices and laboratory built.

2010 - Additional storage space of 2,000 tonnes bought adjacent to the main site.

2011 - Drier No 2 and dresser being replaced as well as 13 conveyors and six elevators.

2012 - Drier No 3 and dresser replaced as well as 12 conveyors and seven elevators.

2013 - A new electric substation installed with an increased capacity, transformer switch-house & distribution board.

2013 - The old office building demolished.

2014 - A 132 Panel PV Solar array installed.

2015 - Old Tarmac site next to Coastal Grains bought.

2015 - Erection of 4 x 5000 tonne silos built, an extra 20,000 tonnes of storage space.
